Getting the specification right for Blue Mountains conditions

Site consultation and inspection
We visit the site to understand the full scope — new build, extension or replacement — inspect the existing structure and access conditions, and confirm whether drawings are available.

Specification and written quote
A fixed written quote is prepared covering product, profile, colour, sarking specification, all flashings, gutters and downpipes. Builder projects can be quoted from plans.

Site preparation
For replacements, the existing roof is stripped and removed, and the batten and rafter framework is inspected. For new builds, we co-ordinate with the build programme to roof at the correct stage.

Sarking installation
Anti-condensation sarking is laid over the full roof before tiles or sheeting are fixed — not optional in the Blue Mountains climate where condensation and driven rain are recurring factors.

Tile or metal installation
Tiles are fixed from eave to ridge at correct gauge and lap. Colorbond sheets are fixed at correct fastener centres and lap details. Valleys, hips and ridges are detailed as work progresses.

All wall flashings, valley flashings, penetrations, skylights and ventilation penetrations are completed and sealed to the correct details for the specific roof material and pitch.

What happens if rain falls during the installation?
We plan installations around the weather forecast as much as practicable, but Blue Mountains conditions can change quickly. Where work has to pause overnight or across a weather event, the roof space is temporarily weather-sealed before we leave so the interior stays protected. For new builds, timing is usually co-ordinated with the builder around weather windows.
Is the 7-year workmanship warranty standard on all new installations?
Our 7-year workmanship warranty applies to all new tile and metal roof installations we complete — conditions apply. The warranty covers our labour and installation quality; it is separate from any manufacturer product warranties on tiles or Colorbond steel. The warranty is provided in writing with the invoice at completion.
